Large power user forum

EAPIC 2012 brings the opportunity to explore the relationship between the large power users in the industrial sector and the power sector.

How can the East African power industry better service the industrial sectors and how can the relationship between these two parties be further developed?

Power outages create an immense inconvenience, is expensive and highly frustrating for industry, but how can they assist with the increasing of electricity capacity and develop other sources of electricity generation?

What steps can be taken by government in the reduction of the high cost of electricity?
What types of incentives for renewable and alternative energy investments and captive power generation can be put in place to reduce the problem?

The key focus for the LPU Pre-conference workshop will be to encourage the conversation between industry and the power sector.

Power supply stability, energy management & efficiency, tariffs and pricing, service delivery plus more will be discussed.
This workshop is designed to bring together the power sector stakeholders: utilities, government organisations, Ministry, IPPs, distribution, generation and transmission companies in East Africa with energy and power specialists within:

  • Building, Construction & Mining
  • Chemicals
  • Food, Beverage & Tobacco companies
  • Metals mining
  • Paper and pulp companies
  • Plastics and rubber
